1.Prepare the Cake Batter:

-Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

-Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.

-Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold into the batter while adding milk and vanilla extract.

2.Bake the Cake:

Pour the batter into round cake pans (2 layers are ideal for this design). Bake for about 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool the cakes completely.

3.Make the Buttercream Frosting:

Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar while mixing. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract to reach a smooth, spreadable consistency.

4.Assemble the Cake:

Spread a layer of frosting between the cake layers. Cover the entire cake with a smooth base layer of buttercream.

5.Decorate the Cake:

Tint portions of the buttercream with pink and purple food coloring. Use piping bags fitted with star and round tips to create the rosettes on top and the swag-like patterns on the sides. Add additional decorative borders as shown.
