The first step is to wash the parsley in water. Remove any leaves and twigs that look dry or damaged. After washing the parsley, spread it out on several sheets of paper towels to dry.
Fill the jar halfway with water, preferably glass, as this material preserves food better. Now place the parsley stems in the jar as if you were cutting flowers. Then cover the top with a plastic bag, the same kind you use to freeze food. Secure the plastic bag with an elastic band, which you then place around the top of the jar.
How to store parsley
Cut the two outer sides of the bag with scissors to allow air circulation. At this point, you can place the glass jar with parsley in the refrigerator. Ideally, you should place it in the bottle holder on the inside of the refrigerator door.
If you don't have enough space in your refrigerator, another way to store parsley for longer is to place it chopped in a glass jar. Before closing the jar, place a sheet of paper towel between the lid and the opening. The jar can be placed in the refrigerator, preferably with the bottom facing up.
